After browsing several political blogs such as the Huffington Post and Politico it seems that the actual person blogging isn't making much commentary. Instead, these popular blogging sites just report what is currently going on and allow their readers to draw their own conclusions. Readers share their comments with everyone else through the comment section of the blog at the bottom of the original post.
But don't take my word for it; here's an example of what I mean.

The original post is quite brief:

See below for a list of paraphrased quotes from the hearing.It is supplemented by a video. Notice the lack of commentary on behalf of the original blogger. However, then scroll down the page and look at the 1000+ responses that have been posted. This is where we'll find our commentary.
So for political blogs we should leave commentary to the readers. I'm glad this isn't a political blog because I really like giving my own opinions (i.e. - this entire post).
